Complaints investigation
Local authorities and NHS Trusts providing care services are increasingly looking outside their organisations for people who can provide impartial assessments of complaints from the public. We also investigate complaints against education and housing services.
A large part of our work is concerned with investigating complaints for local authority social services departments. Our impartial investigations have ranged across all client groups and our particular expertise lies in the examination of very complex and challenging issues raised by users of social services
Joint investigations
New developments are occurring in services jointly run by health and social service authorities. Complaint investigations are increasingly being undertaken jointly as it becomes obvious that concerns lie in the blurred boundaries between the two organisations
Management Investigations
When managers have problems we are there to provide an unbiased and impartial investigation.
This is frequently a valuable means for managers to understand what is happening in their organisation. We have undertaken a number of reviews into circumstances where uptoward incidents have occurred and we have helped organisations develop learning from this in order to improve practice.
Disciplinary investigations
These are sometimes necessary and an independent view can be important, particularly where there is concern that matters could progress to an employment tribunal.
